Sergey Suchkov was born in the City of Astrakhan, Russia, in a family of dynasty medical doctors, graduated from Astrakhan State Medical University and awarded with MD, then in 1985 maintained his PhD at the I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy and in 2001, maintained his Doctorship Degree at the Nat Inst of Immunology, Russia. From 1987 through 1989, he was a senior Researcher, Koltzov Inst of Developmental Biology. From 1989 through 1995, he was a Head of the Lab of Clinical Immunology, Helmholtz Eye Research Institute in Moscow. From 1995 through 2004, a Chair of the Dept for Clinical Immunology, Moscow Clinical Research Institute (MONIKI. Vladimir P. Torchilin is a University Distinguished Professor and Director, Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Nanomedicine, Northeastern University, Boston. He graduated from the Moscow University with MS in Chemistry, and obtained there his Ph.D. and D.Sc. in Polymer Chemistry and Chemistry of Physiologically Active Compounds in 1971 and 1980, respectively. In 1991, Dr. Torchilin joined MGH/Harvard Medical School as the Head of Chemistry Program, Center for Imaging and Pharmaceutical Research, and Associate Professor of Radiology. Since 1998 Dr. Torchilin is with Northeastern University. He was the Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1998-2008. His research interests include drug delivery and targeting, pharmaceutical nanocarriers. He has published more than 350 original papers, more than 150 reviews and book chapters, wrote and edited 10 books, including Immobilized Enzymes in Medicine, Targeted Delivery of Imaging Agents, Liposomes, Nanoparticulates as Pharmaceutical Carriers, and holds more than 40 patents. He is Editor-in-Chief of Current Drug Discovery Technologies and of Drug Delivery and on the Editorial Boards of many journals including Journal of Controlled Release (Review Editor), Bioconjugate Chemistry, Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews. Among many awards, Professor Torchilin was the recipient of the 1982 Lenin Prize in Science (the highest award in the USSR). He is a Member of European Academy of Sciences. He is also a Fellow of AIMBE, AAPS, and CRS, and received the 2005 Research Achievements in Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery Award from the AAPS, 2007 Research Achievements Award from the Pharmaceutical Sciences World Congress, 2009 AAPS Journal Award, 2009 International Journal of Nanomedicine Distinguished Scientist Award, 2010 CRS Founders Award, and 2012 Alec Bangham Award. In 2005-2006 he was a President of the Controlled Release Society. In 2011, Times Higher Education ranked him number 2 among top world scientists in pharmacology for the period of 2001-2010.

Nikolai Zhelev a Molecular Cell Biologist and Professor of Medical Biotechnology. He also an Honorary Professor in eight universities in the UK, China, Bulgaria and Russia. His laboratory - which conducts research in drug development, cancer and cardiovascular systems biology and nanobiotechnology – has developed the first live-cell biosensor for monitoring activity on cancer targets in tumours. He has developed tiny human hearts - just 1 mm in diameter - which beat of their own accord. His TEDx Talk - How to break a thousand hearts - gives an insight into this research. He is also working with biopharmaceutical and biotech companies on the development of new drugs against cancer and cardiac hypertrophy. He have published three books, five book chapters and more than 90 research papers and patents in the field of DNA damage response, cell cycle regulation and drug discovery and development in oncology and cardiology. He is currently the President of the International BioDiscovery Federation and the Managing Editor of BioDiscovery – the first open access international scientific journal in the field of Life Sciences and Medicine in Scotland.

lan Chet has completed his PhD in Microbiology at the Faculty of Agriculture of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Rehovot. He has published 390 articles, edited five books and holds 38 patents. He has served as a Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Vice President of the Hebrew University. Later, he was the President of the Weizmann Institute of Science and nominated “Institute Professorâ€. He was also a Visiting Professor at Harvard, Colorado State, Cornell, Rutgers and Lund Gottingen Universities. He was awarded with many prizes, among them, the Max-Planck, the Israel prize and the Wolf Prize. He has also received the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Germany and the Legion of Honor of France. Furthermore, he was recognized with an Honorary Doctorate from Lund, Haifa and Naples Universities. He is a Member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, the European Academy of Sciences and Academia Europea. He held the previous position of Deputy Secretary General at the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean.

Dr. Sukanta Mondal is currently working as Principal Scientist at ICAR-National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, Bangalore, India. He has been working in the field of genomics of hormones, reproduction and stress for last 19 yrs. His major research interests includes maternal recognition of pregnancy, cloning, characterization and expression of genes, understanding the mechanism of action of hormone on the reproductive tract, molecular characterization and expression of hormone receptors, cell signaling, understanding of mechanism that regulate ovarian follicular development etc. He is an outstanding reproductive biotechnologist who designed novel strategies for augmenting reproductive efficiency in sheep and buffaloes. He is a leading expert in climate change and has deciphered the molecular basis of climate change impact on embryonic survivality in sheep. He pioneered the development of heat stress and nutritional stress model that will facilitate development of amelioration strategies to augment embryo survivality. He was also instrumental in developing technology for augmenting egg production in layer birds by exposing red spectrum of light (675 nm) and validated in Poultry Breeding Farm at Mysore, Karnataka. He is a recipient of prestigious Overseas Associateship Award (long term) by Department of Biotechnology. He has published over 60 papers in various National and International journals of repute and delivered invited lectures in different conference throughout the country. His pioneering contribution in genomics has received prestigious awards like Prof. G. P. Talwar Midcareer Scientist award, Prof. G. K. Pal award, Dr. K. Anji Reddy award, Prof. P. B. Sen Memorial Oration award and ISSRF Young Scientist Award. He is honored with the Fellow of Indian Association of BioMedical Scientitsts, Fellow of Society for Applied Biotechnology and Fellow of Indian Chemical Society etc.

Alexander Seifalian, Professor of Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine worked at the Royal Free Hospital and University College London for over 26 years, during this time he spent a period of time at Harvard Medical School looking at caused of cardiovascular diseases and a year at Johns Hopkins Medical School looking at treatment of liver. He published more than 647 peer-reviewed research papers, and registered 14 UK and International patents. He is currently CEO of NanoRegMed Ltd, working on the commercialisation of his research. During his career Prof Seifalian has led and managed many large projects with successful outcomes in terms of commercialisation and translation to patients. In 2007 he was awarded the top prize in the field for the development of nanomaterials and technologies for cardiovascular implants by Medical Future Innovation, and in 2009 he received a Business Innovation Award from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). He was the European Life Science Awards’ Winner of Most Innovative New Product 2012 for the “synthetic tracheaâ€. Prof Seifalian won the Nanosmat Prize in 2013 and in 2016 he received the Distinguish Research Award in recognition of his outstanding work in regenerative medicine from Heals Healthy Life Extension Society. His achievements include development of the world first synthetic trachea, lacrimal drainage conduit, and vascular bypass graft using nanocomposite materials, bioactive molecules and stem cell technology.
